There's fish being caught, but it's not the typical summer erieau bite yet. I'm told the fish that are shallower than normal this time of year and are being caught in the 20-30' range instead of the typical 40-60' range they stay in for most the summer.

The Lake is so full of eyes that the typical depth and lure selection doesn't seem to matter. I have never seen anything like it in all my years fishing Erie at the "o"
Nice to see the graph full of bait fish, needs tons to feed all of the walleye.

Glad to hear it - I hear other reports are heating up as well - tried to get out yesterday but wind ruined my plans - I will be out sat/sun for sure to do my best to win that derby prize! lol Didnt know there was a sheepshead and silver bass category.

My boys and I went out off the point tonight in the brutal heat, the surface water temp was 80 deg F...…..
Fishing was slow at the start but heated up around 7:00, ended up with 10 nice eaters, lost 2 at the boat. Nothing better than a night fishing with my best friends

Looks like mother nature is going to bless us with a cooler weekend this one coming up - should be a great one for the derby!
