got out this morning with my brother again to some property where we have been seeing some birds. Didnt take long and we had 2 jakes and a tom in our decoys so my brother decided he was going to take the tom so I took the bigger of the 2 jakes .

A big swing and miss this weekend in Durham, the weather was co-operating but the birds were not
Toms did respond to calling but had no interest at all, in talking to some resident hunters the season was over before it got started. They claim that mild weather in March got them fired up and breeding :(
Oh well...............the company was great and the beer was cold, there is always next year

Got my son out today to try and fill his last tag . We were lucky enough to put a stalk on this bird and intercept him as he came across the field . Tom weighed 20lbs with a 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs

Very nice Bushman!!

And actually all the pics on this thread are great and the birds are presented very nicely. The pre-photo preparation really shows the care and respect you guys have for the hunt and for the bird!!
